Roulette is a casino game named after a French diminutive for little wheel. In the game, players may choose to place bets on either a single number or a range of numbers, the colors red or black, or whether the number is odd or even.
To determine the winning number and color, a croupier spins a wheel in one direction, then spins a ball in the opposite direction around a tilted circular track running around the circumference of the wheel. The ball eventually loses momentum and falls onto the wheel and into one of 37 (in French/European roulette) or 38 (in American roulette) colored and numbered pockets on the wheel.

How to play online roulette
In roulette a croupier spins a wheel in one direction, and then spins a ball in the opposite direction around the perimeter of the wheel. The ball drops onto the wheel and eventually lands in one of 37 (in European roulette) or 38 (in American roulette) coloured and numbered pockets on the wheel. The pockets are numbered 1-37, with a single 0 green pocket in European roulette, and 0 and 00 green pockets in American roulette.
Making a bet
You can place a variety of bets, all based on which pocket they believe the ball will land on the wheel. You can make “inside” bets (picking the exact number of the pocket the ball will land in) as well as “outside” bets (picking various groupings of pockets, pocket colours, or whether it will land in an odd or even numbered pocket).
